Tata was a Brigadier General. But he reports to the school board. So they'll be the ones issuing his orders.
For pointing that out...in my haste to make my point, I forgot for a moment that he ultimately answers to the board

I too am not a Wake resident. But I am pleased about the new board that will be taking office soon. I think they will be good for Wake County and get WCPSS out of the national negative light. However, I think the new board should and will work with Tata. While he is too metric driven for me ( but that's just how public education is everywhere these days), he has shown he can lead. And let's face it, if he could lead through the contention of the current school board, then he does have valid leadership skills. FWIW... I'm a liberal. And I imagine there are plenty of liberals in Wake Co. who think Tata should stay.
