Wow. Thanks for that update. I'll be sure to check before I head home tonight as that would really mess up my commute.

The recommended detour is 54 all the way from exit 290 through Cary to 540...ouch.

On one hand, I'm so grateful I took the day off and didn't have to drive home from Durham in that!

On the other hand, I had to drive to NVA...85 was closed in Dinwiddie and 95 was closed in Woodbridge, turning a 5 hour drive into an 8 hour ordeal.

Just the other day we were talking at work about how bad the traffic on 40 has been lately. Many days my 26 mile commute takes me an hour. I'm starting to have anxiety about driving to work. Apparently for good reason.
