He's a real sweetheart, no dog tag, or microchip. Followed my wife home yesterday morning while walking our dog. We put up flyers and posted online but nothing so far. He's currently at a friends but needs to find another foster or permanent home ASAP. Don't dare take him to the Wake animal shelter since its a kill shelter, and there is a week wait just to have an interview as the ASPCA.

Would love to keep him, sadly my dog hates other dogs.

Anyone that can help please pm.

Thanks

Hard to tell from the picture - does he have pit in him? There are several rescue groups in the area. If you do a search on "pit bull rescue nc", it will pull up some of the organizations.

Would love to help, but we already have four at our house - one of which is still not happy when we brought the last one home.

I used to volunteer at the SPCA in Garner, they are no kill. The Wake Co Animal Shelter in East Raleigh did euthanize, not sure if that' still their policy.

Thanks. We called SPCA but there was a week wait for an interview, and then another month wait to accept him. Animal shelter is not an option. Could never send an animal to a kill shelter.

Have you contacted Second Chance? They take in strays and *may* be able to help. We used to foster with them and all I can say is that it is entirely volunteer run and they ADORE animals. Second Chance Pet Adoptions: Second Chance Pet Adoptions. Adopt a cat or dog at our shelter in Raleigh.

Good luck. Give them a call if you need to. They are all full time workers at "day" jobs so they can take a bit to get back to you. Hopefully they've got a foster who take take your foundling in.

Bless you for what you're doing for this cute pup, Islanders. We have a sort of similar situation to yours: only our (little) dog gets along ok with tiny dogs... but not so much with mid and big sized dogs. Best of luck.

We are midway through the process of adopting a dog through Independent Animal Rescue. They may be able to help you.

Good luck!
