It was more about fear mongering from outside entities.

Isn't the old plan still new?Why would you go through so much planning if there was a plan just put in place.Such a waste of time and money. It's like perpetual planning, and nothing ever gets accomplished. The whole board needs to be fired. It's worse than our congress.

Is anyone else tired of their child being used as a political pawn by school boards and dept of education? I can certainly understand why homeschooling is on the rise.

Yep. And I "voted" with my feet. Not only did I refuse to place my child in a Wake County school, I left Wake County altogether. One of the best decisions I ever made. Reading about the ongoing circus the last 2 years has reinforced my decision EVERY SINGLE DAY.

Would you mind me asking what county you moved to and placed your child in? Or are you homeschooling? I also am so tired if this circus, but worry about other counties' school systems and curricula. Its almost like the lesser of the evils at this point for me...

Unfortunately, yes. But the people who voted in the newest board thought things would change. It's just more of the same. Exclusion, chaos and limbo. No one knows which way is up and which way is down anymore. How can any parent possibly feel comfortable and confident in the future of the school system?
