Is none of the above a valid answer? Is there a reason you are not just going to live in Chapel hill. Lots of new apartments in North Chapel Hill would make you life much happier than commuting from southpoint up the most miserable route into UNC (ie NC54).

The ones that come to mind are Chapel Hill North apartments and Chapel Watch Village.

Lots of other less expensive options as well, but since you are looking at Briar Creek and Southpoint you are wanting new complexes as opposed to established.

Thanks everyone! From what I have read you guys really like Southpoint!!!! I do too... however, I chose Brier Creek. I'm getting married April 15 and my fiance will continue working in Rocky Mount until his contract with his job runs out later this year... and he'll be attending Wake Tech's culinary art program at night, therefore I felt the need to compromise (I hear that when you get married the "I" changes to a "WE"... still working on that one.... LOL)! If he could drive an hour to work, a 30 minute commute wouldn't kill me, I've done it for the past 10 yrs anyway... just on rural roads though!

Anyway, I went over the pros and cons.... the complex I chose came with a washer and dryer (saving me the $50/mth fee, intrusion alarm already installed and monitored (saving another $30/mth), already came with microwave, also saving $65/mth in rent!!! I may have to drive an extra 10 miles to work, but my hubby to be is happy and its saving him time and gas on his drive to work and school!!!! I also met with the property manager and discussed the 2 bedroom issue and a letter with both signatures was placed in my file, and a copy given to me.... don't worry I will be calling and calling to ensure they honor the agreement!!!! Again thanks all.... you guys really did help!!!

Make sure you keep doors locked, things not displayed in your car, always aware of surroundings, people following you, etc -- and that goes where ever you move to or driving around...common street sense goes a long way.

Good luck and welcome to the triangle!
And it's worth pointing out that this advice should be followed anywhere in the Triangle, and the entire US for that matter.
