I am trying to find the best place to print off digital photos. I use a pretty nice high res camera (Canon Powershot SD1400 IS, 14.1 megapixels). Recently I went to CVS and used the kodak ready in seconds booth, but I felt like they were pixelated and not quality prints. Any advice??

SD1400 is a point and shoot camera. Just because its 14 megapixels does not mean that it takes "high quality" pictures...specially if you are running it under auto mode....some high ISO settings might result in really grainy pictures. Are you sure the source photos are free of these issues?

We use CVS and Sams club for printing all the time and have never had a problem.

If I want prints and plan ahead, I'll order them online and they are mailed.

If in a pinch and I need them fairly quickly, then I have had good luck at wolf camera -- not the 'quick' machines though -- their quality is still suspect although I haven't done it in awhile so maybe they have improved? In general, I'll hand my USB drive or card over and have them print using their machine and come back a day or two later for them. That longer process seems to produce much higher quality prints.

Drugstore prints are crap quality. I haven't seen one yet that produces crisp, non-fading prints. They are ideal for kid projects like science fair and such though b/c it is cheap.

IMHO of course. :-)

Agree with drob, megapixels mean nothing. Unfortunately, it's a marketing ploy that most consumers fall for. Megapixels are not created equal, esepcially on point and shoot cameras.

BUt with that said, any camera really should be able to print a 4x6 without a problem (unless it was taken in near total dark sans flash). If you want quality, I would order online. I have had a lot of luck with mpix.com although it has been a couple years since I have used them.

Most professionals now upload to professional sites that mail back the prints and enlargements.

I would go somewhere like Wolf Camera. A place like wolf where they regularly maintain their photo equipment (daily) rather than provide it as an afterthought service (like walgreens / walmart ect) is the best bet.

Let me say Wolf Camera sucks. I had some prints done there the other day and the colors and cropping were completely wrong. When I pointed this out to the clerk she essentially told me tough luck. Ordered the same prints again from an online place and when they showed up they looked the way they were supposed to. Will not being using Wolf Camera again. They're overpriced anyway.

We have had good experiences with CVS & Walgreens. You can also try online SnapFish and pick them up in some drug stores where they have tie-ups with to save on shipping and avail any discounts or coupons that they may offer online.
