Thanks for the news. How far up O'Kelly Chapel Road from NC55 are the Parkside Town Commons developers widening? Will they widen all the way to Green Level Church? I haven't driven up that way in a while.

Just the last 400-500 feet before the light at 55. Probably not quite half way to Alston. Making it fully built out with a median and lots of stacking for the light though.

What are they building at the intersection of OKC and GLC? You'll noticed the heavy equipment as you cross over OKC on GLC while going toward the elementary school on the right. It looks to be separate from the apartment complex. Almost looks like a small fast food place or perhaps a gas station would fit there perfectly.

Don't you dare get my hopes up for a gas station at that corner, JQ Public! If only!

There's already plans approved by Cary for a Sheetz up the road at NC 55 and Kit Creek. I doubt it would be a gas station.

I heard a new daycare center will put on that corner area.

The daycare is a bit further up O'Kelly on the other side of the apartment complex. This is literally right at the corner of GLC and OKC.

EDIT: Looks like there will be two daycares - one right at the corner and a different one on the other side of the apartment complex.

Thanks everyone! Hopefully they won't open the daycare til the light is open. I don't want to see a car spinning out into a daycare.

Yep 2 schools - All Stars academy is infant through presch and Kiddie academy is infant through elementary school. Lots of competition for the presch and below age. With all this activity, there is a guarantee that intersection will have stop lights but the schools would still take a while to complete. Hopefully they are not working on that timeline, and hopefully early Spring as someone suggested. Now the placement of All Starz will make for a very difficult left turn going onto O'Kelly Chapel. We'll see how that works

I almost had a head on crash at this intersection yesterday. A douche nozzle was coming up from 55 and was in his left turn lane with his directional on, signaling he wanted to take a left down greenlevel church. I was heading in the opposite direction, in my left turn lane, left directional on. I start my turn when DN decided he no longer wanted to turn left and continued straight through the intersection. If it was wet like it is today there would have been a head-on.
