Does anyone have a recommendation for a very good men's stylist? I've tried quite a few, always asking for the 'senior stylist,' but I have difficult hair.

I'm not going to say price is no object, but I'm so desperate I might consider that guy who cut John Edwards hair a few years back. I'll also consider driving almost anywhere in the triangle. If it helps, I have thick straight hair.

OK, I've written 'stylist' just a few too many times. Time to go drink some beer and watch some football!!

Thanks for your help though!

Joyce Roberts, at American Tobacco barber shop. Ran her own barber shop elsewhere in Durham for years; think her dad was a barber, too. She only does men's hair and is the best barber I've had in my life. Jim and Michael Goodmon pressed hard to recruit her to ATC to run a shop there and she's gone from being in solo practice to having four chairs. I haven't tried the others, because Joyce is just that good.

I usually end up mid-$30's after tip.

The Herald-Sun did a nice story recently on her and her husband Scott, who's a battalion chief with the Durham F.D. when not cutting hair: The Herald-Sun - 2 on the top (http://www.heraldsun.com/view/full_story/16293514/article-2-on-the-top- - broken link)
