Are there any special sites that lists companies in the Raleigh/Cary/Durham area?

I have tried Monster, Career Builder, employment agencies, but what I really want to be able to find out is where the good companies are.

I was laid off a year ago and am currently temping.

Any idea's? Sites? Agencies?

Use indeed.com

There are companies hiring, but a lot depends on your field of work and experience.

Thanks North Raleigh Guy. I've been on Indeed.

What I am looking for is an actual website that lists companies in Raleigh or RTP. I've search and found RTP.org but that link isn't working. Does anyone else have some idea's?

Thanks,

Try this site - TechJournal - Informing and Empowering the Digital Community.

Lots of news on tech companies in the area, might be a good place for you to find some of the smaller companies in the area.

Yes, the wikipedia entry for Research Triangle Park has a list of companies. Also, chamber of commerce pages usually list major employers so check the Raleigh, Cary, Durham chamber of commerce sites.

Default My recent experience

What I have found recently is that companies get so swamped with resumes and applications when they list job openings on any internet forum that they only post on their own job boards. I recommend you do an internet search for companies located in the Triangle area specializing in your desired job/background/experiences. With this information you can then go to each company's individual jobs listing site to see what is available.

I know this may be unworkable for people searching for Human Resource, Purchasing, Accounting, etc., type positions because every company needs these services but few specialize in it.

Another resource would be specialized forums such as the Groups available on LinkedIn.

If you are a tech worker, you'd fine SIGs mentioning jobs on the boards. Also, Craigslist is better than monster or dice in my experience but you'd end up in smaller companies for the most part, IMO.

the big boys hire via networking and their own, internal references generally.

hth,
I am in the same process, a tech worker by the way.

thanks
