I would recommend searching "Cameron Pond" within this site. There is plenty of commentary available to you.
I would also be VERY selective in terms of location within the neighborhood, and keep an open mind about other similar subdivisions in NW Cary-there are plenty of choices that frankly are far less controversial than CP.
Lots of young families and great housing stock. The new phase on the East side is selling very quickly. Funky Chicken/MehWhatever love to harp on the neighborhood (if you take Funky Chicken's advice and check out other commentary on the threads half of the negative commentary will be theirs), but 540 is a nonissue for the majority of the subdivision.
Maybe there are some good deals there now?
People I know in that area have been really hurt by the huge drop in property values.
I guess the question is will it drop further when 540 opens or has the worst of the decline already been factored in?

I stand by my reputation on this forum and stand by every comment I have ever made about Cameron Pond. The notion that "540 is a non-issue for the majority of the subdivision" is patently false.
We looked there. Great houses. Good schools. The furthest point in the neighborhood in straight-line measurement is barely over 1/3 mile from 540. Most of it is significantly closer. No thanks.
