Hi everyone! Just did a search and the last posts about sewing and quilting in the area are from 2009. I recently received a sewing machine for Christmas and am interested in learning more about quilting. Does anyone know of groups or stores that offer instruction? (Joanne's Fabrics in Cary does NOT, you have to drive to their Durham store). Thanks in advance!

Elegant Stitches offers all sorts of classes: Welcome to Elegant Stitches Online

Also the Wake Tech sewing classes are great. I've taken two of them. They're mostly offered in the evenings.

Wish Upon a Quilt offers classes! They have a Facebook page and email newsletters if you want to check them out before you go.

Wish Upon A Quilt, LLC.

A very nice group of individuals.

I've also heard great things about Thimble Pleasures in Chapel Hill but I've not been there myself yet.
