My fiance and I are moving to Cary, we just need to finalize the lease to the new apartment. We are moving in May and I will be taking a bar review course and I'm not too sure which location would be the best. I have never been to the Raleigh/Durham area before so everything we see will be for the first time once we move to Cary. The locations are:
Chapel Hill at UNC
Durham at Duke
Durham at NCCU
Raleigh at Campbell
Wake Forest
I'm currently signed up for the Duke location, but I want to take into consideration not only distance, but how easy it will be to find parking.
For the interested, we found a place at Hyde Park. We did a shorter lease just in case we don't like the complex.
Yeah, I think the Campbell location in downtown Raleigh will be easiest to get to AND have more parking options (plus there will be the most options for lunch/dinner afterwards). Second choice would probably be Duke, but that campus is really confusing to find your away around (says someone who's lived in this area virtually my whole life and still gets lost finding buildings at Duke).
Wake Forest University is NOT is the town of Wake Forest; it is in Winston-Salem, 2 hours away.
Where exactly is the course being held? Agreed with some of the PP's that parking at university campuses can be a challenge, but I'd note (for instance) that Bar-Bri's winter 2012 NC bar review courses were held at a DoubleTree Hotel on Meridian Pkwy., which is right near NC 55/I-40, as tons of parking, and would be easily accessed from Cary/Morrisville.
You might ask your bar review company if they know where the courses will actually be held. Doesn't look like summer schedules are up yet.
Also, I assume you're taking the NC bar, but if you're taking another state's bar, you might find Duke or UNC locations have more students studying for NY, Calif., Fla., etc.
Thanks for all the responses. I will call Barbri and ask them when the locations will be released and post back in this thread with actual locations.
On a side note, I am taking the NC bar. Currently from PA and attending law school in Michigan.
