Looking for recommendations for some good take-away food (all types) near Southpoint Mall. Obviously know about all the biggies around here, PF Changs, CPK, Cheesecake Factory, but would love some suggestions for smaller places tucked into some of these shopping centers that I might not otherwise notice.

Thanks!

There is Tomato Jakes in the shopping center at the corner of Hope Valley and Renaissance Pkwy. I prefer Amante Pizza, at Falconbridge on Hwy 54 at the 40 interchange.

I honestly don't like many of the restaurants in that area. There are a couple of good chinese places, Shiki Sushi (Homestead Market, next to Harris Teeter) and Orient Garden (next to Kroger).

There is a Mexican place called Los Portales in the shopping center with PF Chang's that is pretty good.

There are some good ethnic retaurants around Hwy 55.

Lightbulb SW Durham Food!

OK, will give a better response:

1. Shiki Sushi for sure - you can take-out buy one get one rolls on Mondays!
Shiki Sushi House of Steak

2. Sal's Pizza is on HWY 55. Good Mom/Pop shop and also has a great buffet

3. Baba Ghannouj - They have a quick pre-made food selection which changes daily, or you can order from the menu which is not as fast
Home

4. Orient Garden - Best Take-out Chinese we have found. We normally get the 'dinner for one' and will feed both my wife and I with some leftovers
Orient Garden Restaurant Morrisville, Cary, Durham

5. Thai China Buffet - I have gotten Thai takeout here twice and it was very good

6. Los Portales - I would also echo Los Portales as the best Mexican joint in the SP area

Cheers!

There are a couple of decent Italian places nearby, Pulcinella at Woodcroft Shopping Center and Bocce at Sutton Station. That reminds me, Chubbys tacos at Woodcroft is one of my favorites.

I'll second Randy's. It's our favorite "NY" style pizza in our neighborhood.

Also, Baba Ghannouj in the Homestead Plaza (a few doors down from Shiki Sushi) has excellent, inexpensive gyros and other Mediterranean food. Try the fattoush!

I didn't like Los Portales, but to each their own, I guess. If you want good Mexican, try El Dorados on HWY 55, it's much better.

Also, Papa Mojos does take-out as well (also on HWY 55). Their Shrimp Po' Boy is amazing.

I get take-out from Ted's Montana Grill (bison burgers) next to REI and also Nantucket in Sutton Station (but kind of overpriced in my opinion).

Our favorite take-out's in Southpoint area are all Woodcroft places: Chubby's, Baba Ghannough (spelling?), and Puclinella's for Pizza (their other food is mediocre at best). City Beverage is another option. Not sure of their take-out. If you just a little bit further Backyard BBQ on 55 is very good.
