Hi everybody,

I am looking for a honest and trustworthy housecleaning service near the Southpoint area in Durham. I live in a subdivision by mall. I was wondering if anybody had any good experiences or are currently hiring somebody they could recommend.

I've never had house-cleaners before and I'm admittedly nervous about the trust factor of somebody having access to my house while I'm not at home. I also have two dogs and am not sure how to arrange the logistics with that.

Also - is it kosher to ask them to use my vacuum cleaner and chemicals or do they prefer to use their own? I would prefer name brand chemicals (Windex, etc).

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I hear you on the trust issue. We had a lady for a while, but she moved out of town, and eventually after a lot of searching and quoting we settled on Maid Brigade:

Raleigh Maid Service, Raleigh House Cleaning Service | Maid Brigade

They are not the lowest priced, but not the highest, either, and they do a GREAT job for what you pay. Feels like it should cost even more. We have them come every other week and only do part of the house - the most used areas - to save money compared with weekly and/or doing the whole house.

They are very fair, honest, and do a great job. The same people come to our house each time with minor exceptions if someone is sick or if we make a schedule change.

Couldn't be happier.

Thanks for letting me know about them. I'm only considering once a month cleaning for the usual tasks. Do you know anything about how they would handle pets in the house and if they prefer they be removed the day of cleaning or crated?

I'm not sure, but based on their success I'm sure they can work with you on that. Give Bradley a call - he's the owner and will be happy to discuss with you.

Thanks, I'll give them a call and see if I can get an estimate.

Anybody else have any referrals or recommendations, please feel free to PM me! I am not particularly looking for a service or an individual who is trustworthy, just somebody who has a good reputation. I've seen other stories through the forums searching about missing jewelry, etc.
