The Barbers Shop in Cary
$11 cut, shampoo, neck massage, hot towel
Good place behind Lowes on walnut Street
After over a decade of haircuts at Man-Mur I started going to this place last year and have been very satisfied. While I miss the hot neck shave, $14 was too much to pay to have them just run the clippers over my head. The post-cut shampoo at the Barber Shop is nice, so when you go in the morning you don't have to worry about shedding and itching the rest of the day.
Lady Janes started up here in Michigan. The owner has the most annoying voice you have ever heard. I dont know if he advertises by you guys yet, but trust me on that one.
However I have always gotten a great hair cut from Lady Janes. He puts the girls through extra training before they can start cutting hair. I know a couple workers personally, and they have told me mens hair is much harder to cut than womens, and the training for cutting mens hair at most places is little to none.
$14 is not a bad price for a good cut, neck shave, and neck massage. I pay $17 for the cut and shampoo, and then tip $10, because the girl I use does a great job. $10 is their introductory price that gets you in the door to see if you like it. They are only raising the price $4 for something you do probably once a month. Thats a cup of coffee at Starbucks or something gross from a fast food place. It's nothing to complain about if you really think about it. You can go to super cuts to save some money, but you will end up looking like you got a $7 haircut from someone who had almost no training on mens hair.
The Hair Saloon for Men is closed in Cary. I'll have to try The Barbers Shop now I guess.
