Hi everyone! I'm from FL and I'm about to go on a community service spring break trip this weekend to the Cape Charles area in Virginia. When we come back from the trip next weekend we will have a whole day to visit somewhere else that's near Raleigh, NC or Cape Charles, VA so I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions? Beaches, state parks, tourist-y towns, good restaurant suggestions are also welcome!

Assuming you have a car! It's a bit off the straight line between the two areas, but I would suggest the Outer Banks and Manteo. See the Wright Brothers Monument at Kill Devil Hills, then the Lost Colony sites on Roanoke Island, then the Bodie Island Lighthouse.
