It's actually an easy word to type: except for the initial "R", your alternate hands in approximately mirror images of each other.

Would that this were the only thing people got wrong about our fine city

Try placing a telephone order somewhere and then telling them you live in Wake Forest.

Nobody can spell wake

Nobody can spell forest

Funny you mention that (and cool, because I hadn't noticed), but I've only ever started to spell it wrong when I'm writing, not when typing. Maybe that's why!

Try living on one of the many streets that have the word "Neuse" in it

We once received mail addressed to "Rolly, NC."

Today my husband received mail addressed to him in "Brentwood, NC" with no mention of Raleigh in the address. Brentwood is our subdivision.

Thank goodness for zip codes.

THIS, drives me nuts!

do a search on how to pronounce Raleigh and it's mind boggling the differing opinions and audios available.

I pronounce it Rah-lee. My ex, who grew up in the Bronx and now lives in NJ, pronounces it Raw-lee Oy Vey!

I pronounce rah (Rah! Go team!) and raw (uncooked) the same way. (I'm from the West Coast.)
