I didn't coin the phrase...just quoting:

It doesn't, and it's not a very clear or accurate description of the jury's sentiment:
Quote:
Two key pieces of the puzzle helped the jury make its decision, said jury forewoman Tracey Raksnis: The clothes and shoes Jason Young was seen wearing on surveillance video the night of his wife's murder were never found and, though Cassidy Young left bloody footprints around her mother's body and throughout the house, the toddler's feet and pajamas were clean by the time Michelle Young's sister discovered her body.
I didn't follow the case very closely -- did anyone hear what the defense had to say about Young's missing clothes?

Mod interpose:

I'm keeping this thread in the local forum, as it's a local issue, but did want to point out that there's also a (much shorter) thread running in the True Crime forum, in case anyone would like to add some thoughts there as well.

Headline writers are being paid to write sensational eye catching headlines. Frequently you can read any headline only to find very little in the text that corresponds to the headline.

It is an accurate depiction of the jurors sentiment. The foreperson spoke yesterday and explained how they arrived at a unanimous decision. On Friday, March 2 jurors entered into deliberations there was an immediate vote, 6-6, 6 for guilty and 6 undecided, at the end of the day it was 7-5, 7G and 5Undecided. On Monday, March 5, jurors all reached a unanimous decision after lunch, took a 20 minute break to think it over and the final vote was again unanimous.

The Defense did not offer an explanation of the missing shirt as the burden was on the State (Prosecution). The shoes he wore the night of the murder were captured at a Cracker Barrel video, were missing, a shirt he was seen wearing on a video at the hotel the night of the murder was also missing.

JY mother testified that nothing was removed from JY explorer when he arrived at her house from his meeting. The mother gave him the news that his wife was dead, they immediately left to Raleigh.

On his trip from Brevard (his mother's home) to Raleigh, JY vehicle was immediately seized, the shoes and the shirt he was in possession just the night before were mysteriously gone.

Hey, no kudzu. Actually the jury foreman was quoted as saying:

"While we were deliberating, we started naming all of these coincidences," said juror Anthony Fuller. "It was like, 'How do you just have so many coincidences?"

There is a video at the link provided by TheBigKahunaNC.

Other then that, I have no dog in this fight..as the saying goes. I maintain my opinion as posted earlier.

^^^^Exactly

Some jurors were interviewed and explained how they weighed the evidence and lack thereof, they also explained how they reached their verdict and after all it was said and done all the evidence, circumstances, testimony pointed back to the defendant.

It doesn't make sense for anyone to think someone could be convicted on lack of evidence.

To add on to this the jeans were missing as well. There was a pair of jeans in the luggage but upon further inspection (I could see it in the pictures as well) by the jury they realized it was not the same style of pants that he was wearing on camera the night of the murder.

Also, the jury members, one or two anyway, explained that while there was no physical evidence tying Jason Young to the murder nothing pointed away from him either.

^^^Correct,'azwildcatfan'. .thx

The way I see it, the man had the means, motive and opportunity, hence all the circumstances, testimony, evidence presented during the trial points only to him, at least from where I sit. . . Jurors spoke, Guilty 1st degree murder, hopefully the FB ordeal is just some nutjob wanting to cause a ruse.

Yes, especially since what's being investigated isn't what the foreperson said (something about 7/5 guilty/not guilty whereas they were initially split 6/6 guilty/undecided).
