Also have Wireless Keypads and such that you may not get with the builder basics.

Please - what is a unitless keypad? I'm not being sarcastic - we will likely dealing with similar issues as the OP and I'm only familiar with the electric garage doors with the clicker in the car and the open/close switch on the garage wall.

Read it as "Unit without a keypad."
Referring to an exterior keypad which lets you open the door by inputting a numerical code.
We use ours frequently to open or close the door when outside.
I may want to enter the garage for a rake, etc.
It is in addition to, not in replacement of, other controls.
For $30--$40, a keypad just offers some flexibility.
