Help! Does the Town of Cary have a "No construction on Sundays" rule in their code??? We have new houses going up next to us. I knew the lots would eventually be built upon when I moved in, but the early Sunday morning hammering, trucks and workers yelling was just a bit much this morning! I did a search on town of Cary & Sunday construction but nothing came up... If anyone could post a link that would be great! Also, if there is a rule about no construction on Sundays, how do I go about proving my complaint since there aren't any Town offices open today???
I'll just add to call the building dept on Monday, so they can talk to the project manager. The building dept can't go out there and do anything on Sunday but they should know about this issue (I had the same problem with a neighbor in NY).
We ran into this issue a few years ago and spoke to the appropriate department within the Town of Cary (don't recall anymore). We were told that while yes, technically no construction can be performed on a Sunday, the builder can request a permit to in fact work on Sundays. So, kinda defeats the no work on Sunday rule.
Annoying and nothing we could do about it. Call the town and check if this is still the case.
I've seen construction workers hammering away in Cary on Thanksgiving and other major holidays. Why would Sunday be special? Why is Sunday morning any different than Saturday morning?
When our subdivision was still under construction we had some problems with them starting too early in the morning. We spoke to the builder's on-site rep and they took care of it.
