This is the company that the home builder uses and we have to decide if we want to pre-wire the house. If we use Westminster for 36 months for the monitoring, the pre-wire is free.

I assume Westminster is affiliated with Brier Creek somehow; I've certainly not heard of them otherwise. The "36 months for free equipment" is pretty standard among the largest companies. I certainly hope yours is for a fully-functional system, and not just prewiring though.

You might want to inquire whether the alarm equipment permanently locks you into their monitoring service. With some systems, you cannot change providers without changing the equipment.
