We are considering a property we saw online in a subdivision called Waterford Green in Apex. We are out of town, and would like to narrow our search before we come to NC to make the final decision. Any input would be appreciated! We are a young family with small kids.

We looked at homes in Waterford Green a while ago and they are fairly overpriced. I can't quite figure out why. But if you want a more affordable nice neighborhood in Apex try Abbington off Kelly Road and 64, or Dogwood Ridge off of Olive Chapel.

Waterford Green currently has 3 properties for sale. They are listed at $239,900 and $284,900 and $299,900. With the exception of the first, the other two properties are listed at $99 and $97 per square foot. Its a very nice neighborhood with a pool. Vicki

Default Sea of Siding? or Cute?

It the neighborhood a sea of aluminum siding or is it interesting with lots of trees and some character? I hate that "new" everything looks the same look.

Vynal siding is the way that most new subdivisions are nowadays. I recall seeing several homes in waterford green with Brick on certain areas of the facade; but you aren't going to find many full brick houses there. Hardy Plank siding is becoming more popular and IMO the best choice after brick for a home. I'm not sure if Waterford green houses have that or not.

In years past...vinyl siding has been looked down upon. In my neighborhood, which is about 15 years old...and we have the horrible massonite...our covenants state "no vinyl siding". Most of the lower end neighborhoods have always had vinyl and now...alot of the more expensive neighborhoods are using fiber cement (hardi plank) or vinyl or brick front. Vicki

I know this question was posted a long time ago, but I am looking into this neighborhood as well... 2 years later =)
on the map it looks very close to US 1; does anyone have opinions on this? Can anyone who lives there talk about the overall feel of the neighborhood? Thanks!

It is close to US 1, the entrance is just off of US 1 ten ten road off ramp. Some of the home back up to ten ten road. I lived in a neighborhood close to there before I moved to wake forest, it is called glenmitt stone and it about 2 miles from there. The homes in glenmitt stone definitely have trees and variety, which may be something you are also looking for. I don't know if any homes are for sale in that neighborhood right now. The YMCA is also very close by.

Leigh

Well I lived in Waterford Green for several years and I loved it. We moved to buy a bigger a house not because we didn't like the neighborhood. When I sold my house I sold it the first weekend it was listed. I loved the location because you can hop right on US-1 and get where you want. You got Beaver Creek nearby the Walmart and other grocery stores.

I don't think Abbington could be considered more affordable than Waterford Green. Not really comparable.
