What are some of the names of Custom home builders that come highly recommended in the Triangle? I would love to speak with some of them and see their homes when I am in town next weekend.

Also, what are the names of some of the local production builders (those who really only build in the Triangle or nearby), so I can look at those as well?

I appreciate any responses!!!

Your better local Tract Builders-John Wieland, Toll Brothers, Orleans, Robuck.

Custom builders wih a good reputation-

Ange Construction Company
Rice Builders
Carolinian Homes
Bluepoint Homes
Den-Mark Construction
Baron Custom Homes
Timberline Builders

There are many more-these are the ones whose homes I have been in and have the best frame of reference on. The low end for them is about $400K-they push up towards a million plus.

Here's a good reference-

Home Builders Association of Raleigh-Wake County, North Carolina

Are you looking in any particular area of the traingle? Some builders, not all, only work certain areas of the Triangle.

Interesting. I remember Robuck from Falls River when I was looking out there several years ago. I would have thought they were a typical tract builder from the homes I saw there (relative to Rice, Tingen, and others).

I thought Robuck was a tract builder as well. I've always liked their houses but they do feel more like "production" homes. We really like a small builder in Clayton (although I think he builds everywhere) named Robin Farkas. Very impressed with the upgrades he puts in his houses and the general quality of his work.

I have personally known many people that bought with John Wieland and have been very pleased, but I think they are more semi-custom. I hear that their customer service is outstanding, and that they address all warranty work without a fight. People say they would definitly buy again with this builder. As far as custom builders in the Cary area, does anyone have any first hand experience with any of the custom builders mentioned that they can share? Does anyone know if one of these builders offers more value for the money than another. Maybe a realtor has some buyers that have built with some of them and can share some of their thoughts. Good Luck.

In northern Wake County there is Joseph Grantham homes. Also, his brother Charles Grantham homes they both are exceptional builders. They only build a few homes a year so you get a very personal touch.
