If someone needs to address a legal issue concerning real estate in Baltimore between them and the lending bank and needs to hire an attorney but currently lives in North Carolina, could they hire a lawyer here in NC to deal with the issue or would they have to hire an attorney in Baltimore? Has anyone here ever had to engage in long distance legal issues and if so how did you deal with it? Thanks folks.

Hire a lawyer in Baltimore. An NC lawyer won't be familiar with Maryland real estate law.

yep. unless you happen to find an attorney here that is barred in both NC & MD. even so, the costs of travel for them for any potential hearings could cause more of an issue for you (unless they obtain local counsel to appear for any hearings). best advice is definitely to go with a MD attorney.
