My family and I are considering moving to Hillsborough. The forum has answered a lot of our questions for us but just wondering are there a lot of young families, is it very religious or has any of the liberalism of Carrboro or Chapel Hill spilled over? Can vegetarians get by, Hogs day is totally cool with me as long as I don't have to eat the pork!

Hillsborough is a nice town. It definatley has something to offer everyone. Probably the best Main Street in the Triangle. You are close to Carrboro and Chapel Hill, but Hillsborough is also traditionally a farming community so you have some rural parts but the conveniance of Chapel Hill, Durham and the Triad (Greensboro, Burlington).

I always tell people if you want to see a community go to a WalMart on a Saturday, or go to the local Grocery store on Saturday.

Hey there,
I was looking in the Triangle, looking for decent home in good community. Way too busy for us (we are leaving the big cities) Fell into Hillsborough and have found that some liberalism is spilling over. Lots of old Kerry bumper stickers, pockets of really smart people, vegans, bbq, yes lot of religious people....Surprising mix. No vegan restaurants as far as I can see. But a surprisingly eclectic mix.
