My wife and I are expecting our first child in a month and we've decided that in the fall, we're going to pack it up and put some roots down in North Carolina, where she's originally from.
We'd like to start a Dog Walking/Pet Sitting business in the triangle and I'm wondering where there would be a need for such a service? We have a budget of up to 275k for a home and would prefer something with at least one acre that isn't too far (within 30 min) from potential clients.
I think there is the demand in Chapel Hill/Carrboro area however your housing budget will not be sufficient. Look into Hillsborough. You would have more customers will a bigger area like north Raleigh but you will have competition anywhere.
You would do well to join TAPPS, the Triangle Area Professional Pet Sitters association. A petsitter I know who moved here joined them before moving and went to a meeting of them soon afterwards, to start networking. I understand it's a pretty close-knot community.
evaofnc - I did see some listings on Craigslist, so that's encouraging.
no kudzu - Thanks. Yeah, I'm starting to get the idea just looking at property listings online, that I'm going to have to reevaluate my expectations.
Francois - Thanks for the link ! That will definitely help.
