Hello there!
My husband and I are considering moving from VA to NC and are partial to the Raleigh area. He is a behavioral therapist and is a Tri-Care provider. Because of this, we'd like to move to an area with a high military population. We were just wondering if there are many military families living north of Fayetteville, towards Raleigh. He would be spending time at NC State so ideally we would relocate between Raleigh and Fayetteville. Any information would be great!

Fuquay is a great location for this. I don't know if there are military families living there or not, but I do know that the commute to both Raleigh and Fayetteville is reasonable. When we lived in Fuquay at one point there was another family in the neighborhood who worked in Fayetteville but was not in the military. Fuquay is also a great place to live. We really liked it there.

Great! We have heard great things about Fuquay and we actually passed through there last weekend and really liked it. I do think the commute would be reasonable from that location regardless where his clients are, very central. Thank you for the input!!

I live in Garner (just east of Raleigh) and have met a lot of military families at my son's OT office here in Garner. Most of them live in the Fuquay, South Garner, Willow Springs area. Good luck with your move!

Take a look at South Lakes in FV. A number of Bragg families live there. Relatively direct commute to both Bragg and Raleigh.

We are a military family. We lived in Sanford (Carolina Lakes and HWY 87 area) since I worked in the RTP and my husband was at Ft Bragg. I've moved from there. But you will find that many military families are spread out because Fayetteville is not a desirable place to live anymore. I would recommend Sanford, Fuquay, Holly Springs, or Apex.

We are a military family living in north Raleigh. Someone that accepts Tricare Prime Remote around the Raleigh area would be an amazing thing. So few doctors or therapists are providers around here. There are a lot of military families around here because of recruiting depots, reserve stations, and ROTC programs.

Something to consider is the large VA hospital in Durham which means many military retirees/vets would be nearby. I believe they are expanding Hwy 401 from south of Raleigh down to Fayettville which should ease your commute as well.
