So I decided to relocate from NYC to Raleigh this summer and would appreciate some advice. I am a recently, singles 30s, male and would like to know what areas/neighborhoods to look at to rent. I would like my rent to be under $800/month. Kindly advise.
Any particular areas that are good for meeting new people?

Im moving to Raleigh from NYC this summer too and after looking around it seems that most areas you look have a mix of young professionals and families unless you really go downtown, but that might not be what you want. In terms of meeting new people, I'd say find something you enjoy doing and meet people through that... thats my plan.
Also, where are you guys working? The Triangle is a pretty large place, so a commute from DT Raleigh to Chapel Hill (for example) can be 45 minutes to an hour, which is something you may want to avoid.
Durham - If you are from NYC, you will like Durham better. Downtown. Better restaurants, easier vibe, lots of good music, The Durham Bulls. You can practically get season tickets for the cost of three Yankees games.
