My husband potentially may work at Fort Bragg and myself closer to Raleigh. We looked into Clayton but wanted to explore other areas as well. We came across Fuquay Varina properties that we liked and thought it was worth checking into. Any thoughts??

Also, has anyone ever had personal experience with Grace Christian school?

Thanks!!!

We live in Willow Spring/Fuquay area. We like it here alot and it is close to Bragg and Raleigh..kind of in the middle. Our house is for sale in the area as well. HINT HINT!! Good luck on your search. The area is nice and quiet and you seem to be able to get almost anywhere pretty fast with low property tax.

We had buyers in that situation. They chose to live in Angier. They were very pleased with their choice and loved the rural area.

We live right outside of Fuquay, near Willow Springs as well. We love the small town feel that Fuquay offers, with a lot of the advantages of Wake County. Parks, libraries, rec sports, schools that are part of WCPSS but not overcrowded. We have a great pediatrician in town, and frequently eat out at one of the local restaurants (Daniels, J&S, Aviator, Cupcake Bite are our favorites). When my in-laws were house-hunting, we looked at the South Lakes neighborhood, and several people we stopped and talked to were military families, who said they loved living there and the commute wasn't bad.

Oh, that's great! Thanks for the info. I'll have to look up South Lake and see what it's like. Thanks for the input!

Not trying to be alarmist, but if you're looking at South Lakes, it might be a good idea to check out the NCDOT 401 Corridor study, which may affect the area (for better or worse) NCDOT: US 401 Corridor Study

I wouldn't be deterred by the 401 corridor. F-V has already taken the position against the route that goes right next to South Lakes. Hence, the newly created D9 route that was not an alternative last year. The routes that go right by South Lakes would also abut the future high school and elementary school that WCPSS has purchased. I'd be fairly confident that D9 will become the route.

Fuquay is awesome! Lots of stuff to do here for a small town. Check out the Fuquay Revitilization website for a list of businesses and events in the area.

We live just outside of Fuquay and have been very happy. We are to the south and west of the main street areas. I coached middle school basketball at Grace Chiristian School for one season and found everyone to be very nice. I cannot speak to what it is like to have a student there although my wife and I are looking at Christian school options for rising 8th grader right now. You should also look at Wake Christian, and possibly Hilltop Christian. Hillttop is right outside Fuquay, Wake is a little further, and Grace is further still. Good luck.
