I took the CD changer out of the dash.
I could take it to the dealer, but that is probably gonna cost a fortune.

Any ideas where I could take my car stereo CD changer for repair?

TIA

Is the radio OEM or aftermarket? If it's OEM you're better off buying a used one instead of trying to repair it. Check Ebay, Craigslist, or Amazon.

What exactly is it doing? Sometimes a simple reset will fix any issues especially on aftermarket units which will have a reset button usually behind the faceplate that can be depressed with an ink pen.

It is a OEM. I tried all the tricks I found online with removing fuses, disconnecting battery, disconnecting stereo etc.

The display says CD error and I can not eject CDs.

I've had this issue before and fixed with a guide I found online. Unfortunately I was not smart enough at the time to save that guide and I can not find it anymore.

Refurbed units go for $590. I can find cheaper aftermarket units, but then I need the adapter for the steering wheel controls.

I'll get an estimate and if it is more than 50% of a refurbed I guess a aftermarket unit is the smarter choice....it will have way more features.

Did you check Crutchfield? Their prices are about the same as you can get local, but the extras they provide make the difference. They typically include any mounting adapters, wiring harnesses, etc plus installation instructions. If you were able to remove your old unit, you should not have any problem installing a new one.

No reason to buy a refurbed unit. There is always someone who has replaced their OEM radio with an aftermarket unit and wants to sell the OEM for $50. Just check around for one.

I second this recommendation. Why try to fix or replace with the same kind of unit that has had this problem. With the freebies that you get with Crutchfield, it makes it affordable. You will also probably get a better quality unit that may sound better (depending on your speakers) versus the OEM unit.
