I'm planning a kid's birthday party for a Sunday at Pullen Park. Does anybody know any bakeries in that general area where I can pick up on a Sunday morning? My preference would be someplace that will do something a little fancier than just a sheet cake. If I have to go with a sheet cake or plain round then I know I can get yummy cakes at Whole Foods. Thanks!

While they're not open open on Sundays, I do know Daisy Cakes can arrange for Sunday pick up. But that's in Durham so it might not work out well for you.

You might want to think about doing popsicles for Loco Pops since it'll be so hot on Sunday!

La Farm in Cary does Sunday brunch so it's possible you'd be able to arrange a pick-up with them. Also Sugarland has opened up a location in Cameron Village (Chapel Hill Bakery | Chapel Hill Bakeries) and they have Sunday hours.

Sugarland in Cameron Village for cakes/cupcakes.
Gigis cupcakes near Cameron Village or the Cupcake Shoppe at Glenwood South.
Harris Teeter at Cameron Village.

But my favorite recent discovery for best cakes I've ever tasted --> Hayes Barton Cafe !!

Might want to check out Sugarland Bakery in Cameron Village. That isn't too far from Pullen park. I imagine it will not be cheap, but I bet it is good.
