My husband and I are looking for a single-family home for between 150K and 190K that is at least 1600 sq ft with a decent amount of land (i.e enough to move around somewhat and not be in the neighbor's yard) and want to be in a good neighborhood that's safe for children and a mixed-community. We prefer a somewhat established neighborhood, about 5-15 years old. There are obviously desirable and safe subdivisions and others that are not so much. I'd like to know which ones we should be looking in and which ones to avoid. If you like your neighborhood and the houses fall in the 150K-200K range and average 1600-2000 sq ft, what neighborhood do you live in? On the other hand if you’re trying to get out of your neighborhood due to safety or related reasons or know somebody who is, I’d like to know what that neighborhood is as well.
