Smile Hiking trails in Cary

Hemlock Bluffs Nature Preserve

Check this link out. It is a nice place filled with birds, flowers, and trails. Good exercise too!

You can get to Umstead Park via Harrison Ave in Cary. Just take it north until you cross I-40 and you are there. Probably the biggest and most "natural" feeling park near Cary. You could easily hike there all day.

We took a stroll last weekend out at Shelly Lake in Raleigh. It is off of Millbrook. It was very nice and I am going back. Nice open trail around a lake. You can walk, bike etc. Very safe. About a two mile loop and easy terrain. As a woman someplace I would feel completely safe going by myself.

The area at Lake Lynn (off Lynn Road in Raleigh) is very similar to Shelley Lake. Its not so hidden that you wouldn't feel safe. Both of these areas have classes for kids and adults. Vicki
