I dont order lasagne out too often either, b/c I make it so frequently, but I really enjoy the lasagne at Bellini's in Fuquay, if you are ever out this way.

My favorite restaurant lasagnas so far are Maggiano's at Southpoint and Daniel's at Hwy 55 and Hwy 64 between Apex and Cary.

Glad to hear you found some down 70 that you really enjoyed. I may have to check that out.

I was at SAMs Club a few years ago and a guy with a local pizza chain shirt was in front of me at check out. He was very obviously buying restaurant supplies which included frozen Stouffers lasagna. I have never ordered it out ever since.

Haha! You'd be surprised by the amount of food that "mom and pop" restaurants serve that comes from Sams Club. I guess making lasagne is labor intensive, but I'm willing to pay extra to have stuff that isn't laden with chemicals. I always ask if my meal was a TV dinner in a previous life when I go out to eat

I am also a picky lasagna person (because it is one of my favs) and would also recommend Daniel's on 55 in Apex. It is my favorite thing on their menu.

lol my husband used to work at an area Italian restaurant that has since closed and that doesn't surprise me at all. The sad thing about it was the owner trained at a high end culinary school so you would think he would have put a little more pride into his work.

I've never had particularly good lasagna out anywhere around here. I did find this recipe online and it had the best flavor of any lasagna I've tasted. Takes a bit of work but it's so good.

My three favorites are:

Casa Linga in mini-city/U.S. 1 North.
Casa Carbone on Glenwood Ave.
Daniels, on Hwy 55 right by Hwy. 64 West.

I was about to say, I've NEVER had lasagne in any restaurant that compares to homemade. I don't even order it in restaurants for that reason.
