Hello,
I posted a question about this At the end of another thread, but really would like some information, if someone can help. Relocating to Fayetteville and looking at these two areas, along with Gates Four. Job at Cape Fear Valley. Best fit for family with kids? Any shopping out by ACC and Carolina Lakes? Thoughts in general? Thanks so much!

I'd check out the schools in either community. I saw one listing in Anderson Creek where the elementary schools were rated 3-4 of 10, the middle schools were average, and the high schools were 3 or 4 of 10. I am not sure where the school boundaries of Carolina Lakes are but if they are in Sanford, Lee County, the schools are slightly better than the Harnett County schools. I saw a couple of 6 of 10 rated elemetary schools in Lee County. However, if Carolina Lakes is in Harnett, I saw ES's rated 2-4. Neither has great schools, IMHO.

Anderson Creek Club is fairly new, and I know some of the builders who are doing large 4 bedroom houses. So, I suspect there are a lot of kids.

The shopping is similar in both communities. There are Food Lions about 2 miles away, and a couple smaller stores, with the Wal-Mart in Spring Lake about 10 miles away.

OTOH, I just noticed that Gates Four is in the Jack Britt High School district. If your child is HS age, I would definitely go with Gates Four, as people have had great things to say about that school. The area also has much better rated elementary and middle schools. It would be much close to the job at Cape Fear Valley, wouldn't it?

Thank you for the reply. You are right about the schools in those areas, we would probably send the kids to Fayetteville Christian which has a bussing option into Fay. My husband is really interested in these two communities, I am hesitant just bec they seem to be fairly isolated, although safer I would guess than closer in to the city. I prob prefer gates four, and I would suppose resale would be easier in britt district...
