Has anyone been to The Pit since Ed Mitchell left last May? I was wondering how it compared to when he was there and if the menu was still the same...

Went there last Saturday and it was really good. Can't say 100% identical on all menu items but appeared to be. Had no idea their ribs were so good. Usually just go with the shredded BBQ.

I have been post-Ed and it was the same in my opinion. Got the same thing I always get, ribs and smoked wings, it was great.

Still wish they had better fries

My wife and I have been to The Pit once and we won't be going back. I think it's overpriced and the BBQ wasn't that good. I had the ribs and they were very dry. We live in Durham and there are plenty of places that are closer and have better food.

we just went to the pit earlier this week. it was the same as usual both in menu & in food. i always get the sides so i can't comment on the meats, but my husband still swears they are the best ribs he's had anywhere. the barbecue is good, but there are places that we think can do the same &/or better. just depends on what you like.

i always get the same thing: pumpkin skillet cornbread for appy, a cup of brunswick stew for my meal + steal my husband's two sides since he's more enamored with the meat than the sides + all the biscuits/cornbread you might like.

We go at least once or twice a month and find it excellent.

I don't think it's as good as before ... hate to be a naysayer but I think it's gone downhill and we won't be back anytime soon.

I personally think there are other places that are better for the money. Have definitely had better BBQ other places too.
