I've only swam (swum?) in my pool twice this year so far. The rest of the time I've had to work on it. Now, finally, the sun is out all day and hot enough to help the solar heat get the temp up to 85. Who else has been waiting for this glorious moment?

I suppose this post is not helpful at all other than to say hello to all my C-D friends and to announce my sheer happiness?

I bought the swim passes the Triangle Aquatic Center had on Living Social the other day. I'm looking forward to checking it out! I know an indoor pool is not the same but for my Irish skin it's probably best I avoid the sun as much as possible haha.

Had to drag my kids down to the pool today, I really don't get it. If I had a pool down the street from me when I was a kid I would've never been home in the summer. Then when we got there they spent all their time playing ping pong (at least that's in the shade) and soccer on the pool deck.

Oh, well, only gonna get hotter.

You don't realize how good you've got it until it's gone

Kids! I try to get my daughter to ride her bike or swim but she's often an indoorsy type, I guess like my wife. Does this mean I'll live a lonely outdoor life by myself? Boo

I sometimes wonder if our parental fears trickle down to them these days. Stranger danger and all that, and then they think it's not worth it.

My DS' doctor told him that his mom had a rule they were not allowed in the house before 6 p.m. - he always played sports and then he got hurt, so his mom said "I guess you'll join the debate teaM" LOL. If it weren't for getting all their blasted homework done I think I'd take a page from her book!

The water is still too cold for me but I certainly go sit by the pool and make my vitamin D. My kids love the neighborhood pool but often it's just us and one or two more people using it. I'm shocked that it isn't packed every day. Oh well. More chairs to pick from for me!
