Power was out in Clayton for 2 hours during the night. Did this affect other areas in the Triangle? Certainly glad it occured during the night in this heat. Anyone know the reason for power outage?

Don't know the reason but we lost power as well. We are in Apex, right off 64 near Krogers. It was extremely windy and, according to Greg Fishel's weather call last night, probably due to severe thunderstorms going through. I didn't see any rain at all, we just experience scary winds... I was starting to wonder if I should head to the laundry room in case it turned out to be a tornado.. (I was half asleep LOL and starting to get extremely uncomfortable without my a/c~)

A gust front went thru, I actually recorded it off the NOAA's radar site, pretty neat. The storms completely died north of here.

We had a few strong gusts of wind in Chapel Hill between 11-12 (I think) last night - but no storms.

We didn't have a power outages here, east of Clayton in Johnston county, but I was wondering why my umbrella and table were knocked over on my deck this morning.

I'm around the downtown Clayton area and my power was out for about 10 minutes. It was right in the middle of me working too. Grrr! There I was all nice and calm... typing away (I work at home) and out it went. My daughter screamed! Lol! Good thing I have a nice boss.
