Based on the many recommendations from this board, we used TROSA yesterday to pick up a ten piece dining room set that we purchased on craigslist. The set is high end and in nearly new condition. TROSA was great, including fitting us into their busy season schedule on short notice. I've used movers mant (too many) times over the years, and I've never seen anybody wrap furniture as carefully and completely as these guys.
Efficient, polite, careful, and reasonably priced. I'd use them for those reasons alone. The fact that they are a local non profit is an added incentive.
Thanks for the suggestions of TROSA. Now, when we finally move into our house, I won't even bother researching anybody else.
Hi all thanks for your suggestions but I was actually looking to hire day laborers ( Hispanics looking for work). I'm new to Durham and I wanted to find out where I could pick some up. As far as TRosa goes they are ridiculously expensive. I only need to move the few things I listed above and a few medium boxes. They gave me a quote of $275, 2 hrs with 2men. No way ripp off. Everything is taped up in boxes, i don't have anything fancy/expensive. So I'm not worried about them stealing anything. I need to know where I can pick up some Hispanics to help me move. Thanks
I agree with Trosa as well...You get what you pay for....you may pay less in moving cost but more in replacing items that are broken or even stolen....
