I am coming to Raleigh for a week and am looking for fun things to do with my 2 year old. Any suggestions? Thanks so much!

My daughter is 2.5. We took her to the Marbles Kids Museum and Pullen Park. She enjoyed them very much.

Pullen Park is great. I would also say Duke Gardens might be worth a trip; if it's hot but you want to be outside you can walk around the pond (it's shady) and feed the ducks and turtles. Good way to kill some time and tire out a 2 year old.

Science Museum in Raleigh has enough to keep a 2 year old occupied in cool comfort for an hour or so and it's free.

Any park near you will be great. Pullen is the best. Marbles highly recommended. Ride the R-line bus around downtown (free). Find a public pool and swim. There are lots of threads about toddler activities so there's a lot more, but this should get you started.

Thanks so much. Does anyone know of any inside gym things... where they can tumble?

Thank you for posting this. We just moved to Raleigh (from New York, yes another Yankee ) Five months ago. The wife and kids are loving it here.

Greystone Village (North Raleigh) has an "indoor" park. I haven't been there but I know you can get the information online.

Has anyone been there?

Vicki

It's called Greystone Recreation Center and it's part of the Parks & Rec department so it's free! It is pretty neat but honestly, it's really geared more towards slightly older kids (4+) or so it seemed to me and my 15 month old toddler (at the time). There is a large rock climbing wall and some climbing structures but a 2 year old would find it difficult to navigate, especially if there are older kids there! There were some 4,5 and 6 year olds when I went and they had a blast. Pictures and info here:

If you're here on Saturday morning, there is a small farmers market from 9 to 12 at the Waverly place in Cary. Our 3 yo loves all the fountains and bridges there, not to mention the frozen yogurt place (which opens at 10). It's not as hot in the morning. And Whole Foods has a free snack for the kids at the customer service. I love their pastries for breakfast.
