Has anyone here participated in their classes? I'm wondering what the format is and if you recommend doing it or checking out classes elsewhere in the Triangle. Do they cover newborn care in the classes as well or is it strictly about the birthing process?

The one I went to with my wife was mostly about the birth process and natural pain relief methods. There was also a tour of the hospital birth center.

The nurses after the birth helped a lot with new born care, feeding etc.

I'm actually about to sign up for some pre-natal classes at WakeMed myself. They have a lot of classes focused on newborn care as well as labor education. They even have one called Pets & Babies, which I thought was cute. Good luck!

We went through their class about 7 years ago and liked it alot. We learned so much--- they really focus on the natural part and do not push the drugs ( but say they are okay if you need them)

We still hang out with members of our birth group. Take their breastfeeding class ( bring dad along too) and newborn basics class.

Daddy BootCamp was outstanding.
