I'm surprised Mike lasted as long as he did. I stopped listening to them years ago and find it hard to believe they are the #1 show around here? Maybe in some people's eyes, but they're nothing as far as I'm concerned. I'll take 88.1 and 88.9 every chance I get...
I listened on and off over the past year. I found it mostly harmless, in fact I was surprised it was somewhat tame . My 15 year old listens as well. But I wondered why "Bob and the Showgram" needed both a guy and gal sidekick. Mike seemed to not have much of a role.
A few weeks ago I started listening to AM 680 (I think? for the traffic on the 8s?) and realized that my Dad used to listen to the CBS radio news on the way to work in Fayetteville back in the 70s. The Osgood files is still on! Tickled my nostalgia bone. Public Radio has gotten on my nerves because it was all doom and gloom, so I'm still listening to the AM station.
Anyway, I happened upon Bob and the Showgram a couple weeks ago and they were making really bad jokes about Mexicans. I mean, I can hear a funny joke and find it distasteful for whatever reason, but these were not only distasteful but also not funny.
would love to comment but I've listened to Opie & Anthony for the past 15 years.
I heard that Chopper Harrison guy passed (96.1 from ten years ago)........I kinda liked that fella...
I was an O & A fan for years. I dropped XM when they merged in favor of free internet radio and podcasts. They were funny. My wifes been bugging me to get it back.
I miss 101.1. I liked Brad and Britt ok. Alan Handleman was great for an interesting ride home. When they changed format, it turned a bleak radio landscape into a desert....
I've been listening to the show since 2005. Mike was a great guy and radio personality. Recently I moved out of state so I just heard the news on iHeart Radio that Mike was no longer around. I'm not happy about it and won't listen anymore.
I've listened to O&A for years as well. I think I'll listen to Howard Stern and Cosmo Radio more since I'm done with Bob and the Showgram.
ok I must admit I didn't even know who Mike was, but on a rare occasion this morning I was in my car early and spinning stations, and heard it. I've actually been enjoying listening to AM 570 all comedy in the car lately...some funny, some not so funny, but definitely different.
I will say Clear Channel better hire someone worth a damn. Erica is horrible and it's obvious the gig is a stepping stone for Peanut Butter as she's much to smart to stay. Losing Kentucky Kristin was a very bad thing and now with DJ Mike Morse gone I think it'll be hard to maintain The Showgram's #1 spot. But, then again, what other show is there to listen to? The local radio scene does suck. At 10am my station switches to 850AM for Neil Boortz and Clark Howard.
