Has anyone here had the misfortune of dealing with Lyme disease? Someone in my church family has a son who went un-diagnosed until now and seems to be in (maybe) the next stage of symptoms.

Any recommends appreciated.

If they think it is going into the next stage, I would recommend going somewhere like Duke or UNC for a consult if their insurance will pay for it.

I'm sorry I can't offer a doctor recommendation but you are doing the right thing seeking out someone with Lyme experience. My sister got it and was treated by her generalist who just did the 'typical regimen' most GPs do but it wasn't what she needed and it ended up being a multi year battle for her health. Fortunately she found an infectious disease specialist who really tackled things. This is up in CT so not much help but definitely seek out a doctor who has a lot of experience with LD.
