Our 17-year-old son was riding his scooter on S. Main St. this afternoon when a dog ran in front of him. When he swerved to avoid the dog, with the wet slick roads, he went down. Thankfully he was wearing a helmet, and besides needing a few stitches for a deep elbow wound, he is ok. A wonderful couple in a red pickup stopped to help him. They brought him and his moped safely home to us so we could get him to urgent care. In all the excitement, I failed to ask their names before they left. I do remember saying thank you, but I feel it was inadequate and wish I had thanked them properly. If this was you and you're reading this - THANK YOU!...for helping our son and showing kindness to a stranger.

There are some very nice people in this world, despite how it may seem sometimes. Good to hear that he escaped with only minor injuries.

So glad your son is okay! Hopefully this incident will be a reminder to ALWAYS wear that helmet

One of my sons had a somewhat similar accident and the young girl who pulled over to help him was amazing. I remember feeling exactly like you feel right now - so grateful and like "thank you" would never be enough.

What goes around comes around, so hopefully our "road angels" will be blessed with the kindness of strangers themselves when they most need it
