Where can I find a reliable place to get my car checked and possibly repaired in the Chapel Hill area?

Al's garage, A Better Wrench, Automotive Solutions (THE best if you have a European import)...

Another suggestion for imports is Auto Logic on Main Street in Carrboro. Locally owned and operated. Very honest. Good at talking through car repairs with you to determine what's advisable and within budget.

Auto Logic, yes, that's the other one I was trying to think of. Lots of A-names!

I recommend Auto Logic as well - wonderful customer service/people, great work too. They are a little pricey - I take my wife's Honda there for oil changes - its right around 50 bucks.

Automotion - closer to Chapel Hill - is also great. Used to have a Subaru Forester I took there for oil changes. The guy that runs the shop is super nice, knows his stuff, and is a few bucks cheaper. But you can't go wrong with either for imports at least.

I have used 'Auto Pro To Call' out on the Boulevard, next to the old Borders Books a few times. They are a full service garage.

I prefer a more 'shady tree' type garage where I can talk to the mechanic and poke my head under the hood to see what hes doing. I found a great one in Durham......

Passport auto saved me $1600 from not doing the work advised by Chapel Hill Tire. Car fine 3 years later.
