Hello all! I'm looking for some new neighborhoods to research within the Raleigh City limits.

I would love a neighborhood with some tree's and a pool, not a requirement but would enjoy. Must be a safe neighborhood, and friendly/family oriented.

Price range under $250k.

Prefer not much less than a quarter acre, and 2 car garage. Also prefer a neighborhood with courts, and plenty of non-busy road options to live off of.

I visited Harrington Grove and thought it was nice.. .wide range of priced houses. Any pro's con's on that neighborhood?

Any other suggestions you think would be good to visit?

I also prefer not an extremely busy area, don't really want one RIGHT in the city or middle of everything.

Thanks!!

Take a look at Stonehenge in north Raleigh. The neighborhood is established and there are some good size lots and a variety of housing options. I am not sure what size home you seek but you should be able to find something in your price range but it may need cosmetic updating.

Cross Gate in North Raleigh is just outside the official city limits but is still in Raleigh. Being outside of the city limits means you only pay county property taxes and not city taxes as well. Cross Gate has a great community pool, playground and tennis courts and a couple of little lakes/ponds.

Harrington Grove has always been thought of as a desirable neighborhood, although you will hear plane noise.

Some of the same neighborhoods in that area are Woodlawn and Dominion Park.

It is a large development. There is a spectrum of prices. Probably not many under $250k but in this economic environment, buyers have wiggle room.
