So, let me get this straight. Next year, they're basically scrapping this year's assignment plan entirely and returning to what they had in 2011-2012?

We paid a small fortune for exactly nothing.

What a freak show.

The best part is that next year's plan is just a stop gap until 2014-15's plan. It is going to be a mess.

That's stupid. Why not leave it alone and change it the following year?

Because it would make the citizens of Wake endure the torture of something implemented by Republicans.

That should be just in time for the next school board to come in, scrap the plan, and implement a new one. Rinse and repeat.

This partisan crap needs to stop. People may not like the current plan, but it's in place. Why change back then change again?

Which is ridiculous. Leave it alone until there's an actual, new plan.

Part of the reason that this year's plan is a more temporary is because the board minority asked (no, begged) the majority not to make too many changes too quickly this year. They always said they would be making some adjustments for the upcoming year (2013) so they could have more time to analyze nodes and assignments and not make a decisions too quickly like the current board majority did in 2011.
In 2011, the entire plan was pulled out from under the carpet and scrapped with no new plan in place and too little research on how things such as effective and efficient busing would work Do we want that to happen again? This year is supposed to give the board (the whole board) a chance review, research and evaluate.
