My daughter fell last weekend and got a black eye. She has a performance this weekend. Any suggestions as to where I could take her for a 'makeover' by a professional that would hide the bruising? She doesn't want to look like a gangsta!

A good foundation above a cover up concealer will do it. Both should be able to be found at any local pharmacy! Best of luck!

We've tried...with terrible results. I've always been the natural type and our drugstore make up efforts only make it look work. Hoping a pro could help!

there should be a bridal salon which does professional makeup. call around to see who can help you. or call bridal planners, photographers, etc. they all network.

had a friend who went shopping the day before her $35,000 wedding and slammed her eye with the car door. not only did she have a black eye but her eye was blood red. she was a hot mess and of course everybody thought it was funny to suggest her groom did it with all the pre wedding tension going on. professional makeup did wonders and the photographer fixed the blood shot eye in the photos but you could still tell in person.

hope your daughter finds what she needs in time.

Try Merle Norman - they really do live up to their ads. THere's one in Crabtree Valley according to their website.

So I will admit, I've set foot in Crabtree once in the nearly year I've now been in NC so I'm going from previous out of town experience but long story short I ended up with a very swollen, painful, black eye the day before I had a very large conference where I had to speak. I went to Nordstrom in the city where the conference was being held and the woman at one of the make-up counters did my makeup for free, picked out a concealer and powder for me, and then showed me how to apply it myself. (My makeup routine consists of mascara about once a month.) :-) I was completely shocked at how good it looked, I still owe her to this day!

Anyway, I would imagine you could go into any of the department stores at Crabtree and have the same thing done. Good luck!

You could try Sephora. I've seen their makeup sales people do amazing things. Buy some lipstick or something from whatever line they work for to pay them back

If you are interested in a professional make up artist, I highly recommend Denise Hutter: About Denise

Don't know about a makeup artist, but Dermablend is the best cover-up I am aware of for big issues (like yours). I think Ulta carries it. Good luck.

yes dermablend is great for scars and strawberry birthmarks. it should work well for a black eye but think it might be painful to apply it to a bruise.
