Hello,

My child is 18 months, but we are considering putting her in preschool starting at the age of 2. Does anyone have any recommendations in West Cary (Cary Park) area? Also, when do most preschools start taking applications? I am interested in a part time morning preschool, either Montessori or any other type of program.

Thanks very much for the suggestions.

Trillium montessori is an option available in cary park area. Most preschools start the application process in jan/feb and the classes start from august. Trillium is a decent program if you like the montessori way of teaching.
Discovery child development center is another option which has project-based teaching - but it is a bit of drive from cary park. That's where our daughter goes.

2 year might be too early for Trillium but Discovery has a classroom for that age. One more option is Kids r kids in cary park - which is more of a daycare rather than a morning preschool.

Are you looking for pre schools in west Cary? Many of chains offer half day; kids r kids, goddard and primrose. They tend to be more expensive then a program that is strictly half day with no full day option. All three of these have locations in west Cary.

The churches/places of worship often have preschool. We got our 3 year old into preschool at the Catholic Church in that area. I think most preschools start taking applications in Feb or March before that fall year.

There is a church in Morrisville on the corner of Morrisville Carpenter Rd and Church St that has a sign outside advertising a pre-school.

It's a bit of a drive from Morrisville, but our son goes to Imagine That on Ten Ten Rd (very easy access from Hwy 1). They're strictly half day and very reasonably priced. They are open now and are also taking applications for the next school year. I like that they have very simple policies and minimal closings. They even allow for a make-up day in case of an illness.
