For BBQ, I like The Qshack in Durham the best. What kind of BBQ do you like? If you do a search there are a lot of threads on restaurants and BBQ.

In Chapel Chill, I like the Barbeque Joint on Weaver dairy Rd, and just outside of town on Hwy 86 toward Hillsborough, Allen & Son is great.

For BBQ in Chapel Hill, Allen and son is quite good, but spotty. The only downside is they don't trim the meat and on occasion you'll get half a plate of pork fat. I think Bullocks over in Durham is more consistent, and about as good.

For non-barbq options, Patio Loco, Flying Burrito and Carrburito are all great for fresh mexican, the lantern is great for high end Asian, and Tallulahs for Turkish/middle eastern.

Are you craving North Carolina-style BBQ? In which case, Barbecue Joint is the place for you in Chapel Hill. They are BBQ geniuses.

If you are craving barbecued meat, Q-Shack is great. (It's not NC-style.)
